![]() Personally, if I was in your position and you feel there is an issue, I would take him to a clinic and get him properly measured. Unfortunately the pillow we used (goi-goi) did not help either of my children but I have read that some people have found these useful. If it was just a little bit of flattening, we would not have bothered as it is very expensive. We are pleased with the results that we are getting from the helmet and we are confident that we have made the right decision for him based on his severity. We had him measured at Leeds clinic and he was found to be very severely affected with a measurement of 27mm. With my little one from birth, I could tell that he was affected and I tried repositioning him but his head just became flatter and flatter. Once he reached about 8 months he did start to be able to turn his head more but the improvement in his plagio has only really occurred over latter months. He had physio and I took him to the cranial osteopath. With my eldest it was a constant battle to reposition him as he just could not move his head. ![]() I knew from very early on that both of mine had plagio. I have a 2 year old whose head shape has improved recently but his ears and eyes are still misaligned and I have a 7 month old who has a helmet. I think it really depends on the severity. It is really hard to say if it will improve on its own. Id be grateful for any advice you have from your own experience. I dont know if I am worrying unnecessarily, as no one else seems to be able to see what I do, but I dont know if they are just being kind, and the health professionals seem to lack any urgency. I would be grateful if someone could let me know the details so I can consider this option. I have read on here about clinics in London and Leeds that deal with this. Im working hard to get him to spend time on his right and tummy when he is awake and he has a support pillow when he sleeps, but my concern is that the damage is already done and another month is a long time to wait to start physio.ĭoes anyone know if his head shape will correct itself as he spends less time on it? I have heard it will reshape when he starts to crawl, but if it doesnt then I have wasted even more time. My baby is 14 weeks and my HV has just told me he has torticollis and is referring him to a physio, but it will be about a month before his appointment comes through.īecause of his neck problem he always lays with his head to the left which has made the left side of his head flat and his face looks to be pushed forward on that side, with ears a bit out of line. ![]() ![]() Breastfeeding: the trick to a comfy latch. ![]()
